Objective
Introduction:
The SNCF Actimob project was developed to address transportation challenges in remote areas by introducing mobile offices and shops. To facilitate this initiative, a web application was built using WeWeb for the front-end and Xano for the back-end. The platform enables local communities to track the schedules of these mobile units and allows entrepreneurs ("Actimobeurs") to rent and share them based on their business needs.
I joined the project from the beginning, initially stepping in for an expert who was supposed to lead the front-end development. However, after receiving the Figma designs from SNCF, it became evident that the calendar system required to display truck schedules was complex and challenging to implement in WeWeb. Despite having no prior experience with WeWeb, my manager gave me three days to create a proof of concept. I successfully delivered a functional version of the calendar within two days, demonstrating my ability to quickly adapt and innovate. As a result, I took charge of the entire front-end development of the application.

Creative Process
Mastering WeWeb: Overcoming the Calendar Challenge :
The core challenge of the project was the implementation of a visually accurate and interactive calendar that matched the Figma designs. Since WeWeb was new to me, I had to rapidly familiarize myself with its functionalities and limitations. Through thorough experimentation and creative problem-solving, I was able to replicate the calendar’s design and behavior, ensuring a seamless user experienc
Optimizing Backend Integration: Collaboration with Xano Developers
Another key aspect of the project was ensuring smooth integration with Xano. The back-end system had to manage real-time schedule updates and truck reservations efficiently. I worked closely with the back-end developers to refine API calls and optimize database queries, improving overall application performance and responsiveness.
Enhancing User Experience: A Smooth and Intuitive Interface
Beyond technical challenges, I focused on improving the user experience by introducing fluid animations and intuitive interactions. This made it easier for users to browse schedules and complete truck reservations without friction.
Conclusion
The SNCF Actimob project was an enriching experience that allowed me to master WeWeb and Xano, refine my problem-solving skills, and contribute meaningfully to a socially impactful initiative. Despite stepping in without prior expertise in WeWeb, I was able to deliver critical features efficiently, ensuring the project’s success. This experience reinforced my adaptability, technical proficiency, and ability to work under tight deadlines.
